Shigehiro Nishimura President, DENSO Europe B.V. and DENSO Automotive Deutschland GmbH Managing Officer, DENSO Corporation

Shigehiro Nishimura serves concurrently as President of DENSO Europe B.V., the European headquarters located in Weesp, the Netherlands, and President of DENSO Automotive Deutschland GmbH, the sales and engineering company in Eching, Germany.

Nishimura joined DENSO Corporation (formerly Nippondenso Co. Ltd.) in 1974 after earning a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration from Yokohama City University in March 1974. He began his career in the International Operations Planning Department, responsible for the establishment and management of global operations.

In 1981, Nishimura transferred to DENSO (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. and supported the establishment of the company. With a deep knowledge of the Asian market, Nishimura returned to headquarters in 1987 to the International Operations Planning Department responsible for the Asian and Australian regions.

In 1991, Nishimura transferred again - this time to Europe - and established DENSO Manufacturing UK Ltd. He returned to headquarters in 1996 and in 1998 was promoted to General Manager of the International Planning Department where he oversaw operations and expansion of all DENSO overseas companies.

In June 2004, Nishimura was named one of DENSO's managing officers. He became President of DENSO Europe B.V. in June 2007 and added responsibility for DENSO Automotive Deutschland GmbH in April 2008.
