Koji Kobayashi

Koji Kobayashi is executive vice president of DENSO Corporation, headquartered in Kariya, Aichi, Japan. He oversees DENSO's overall business affairs, the Corporate Center and the North America region.

Kobayashi graduated from Shiga University in Hikone, Japan, in 1972, after which he joined Toyota Motor Corporation.

During his more than 30 years with Toyota, Kobayashi acquired extensive business experience working in several departments, including Human Resources, Accounting (Audit and Cost Accounting), Finance, Domestic Planning and Sales. Kobayashi introduced the Toyota Production System into Toyota's sales companies.

In 2003, Kobayashi joined DENSO Corporation as chief planner in the Corporate Planning Department and executive vice president of DENSO Finance & Accounting Center Co., Ltd.

In June 2004, Kobayashi was named one of DENSO's managing officers and president of DENSO Finance & Accounting Center Co., Ltd. He was promoted to senior managing director in June 2007. Kobayashi was appointed to executive vice president in June 2010.

DENSO, a leading global supplier of advanced automotive technology, systems and components, employs approximately 120,000 people in 34 countries and regions, including Japan. Consolidated global sales for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2010 totaled US$32.0 billion.
